Last poll was very close. : ). A = no stardust, B added stardust.

A for me, Debb! It allows the type to really shine and I think the texture in A is enough, I don't think you don't need the extra in B.

I chose "A"...with the bold text I think the background can afford to be kept fairly subtle. One additional note...to me the word "Gratitude" reads as being slightly to the right of center, i.e. with a bit less space between the "e" and the right edge than there is between the "G" and the left edge - not sure if this is the case or if it's just harder to judge at this scale (or maybe because of the die-cut shape?)...

Ah yes, the landscape works but better, it feels perfect for the space, side by side I think portrait feels squashed.

Tough! You chose some really nice typefaces :) I ended up going with B – it had the same raw feel that I liked about your first option but it stands up better against your background.

I like the typeface in B best! Did you try making this a landscape card at all? Maybe it would fit a little better!

Perhaps the watercolor could be a tad lighter, but I like the simplicity of the design, and the wording still reads well.

Cyn on Apr 27, 2016 at 5:53am

Nice color for corporate. A bit more contrast would help "Gratitude" pop.

Hi Debb! I like the texture of your background! I think gratitude gets just slightly lost in it though--can you make it bolder? if not than like Taryn said, make the watercolor slightly lighter.

I think this needs more of a "Holiday" touch to it. It almost feels very blank to me. I do like the color and texture

Love the color of the watercolor! I think gratitude would stand out more if it was lighter or in a bolder typeface. I agree with others too that another element above the word (maybe a snowflake or something) would give it more of a holiday feel

I appreciate the calm, quiet design to focus on the thought of gratitude. Pushing the design with either adding a design element or a shift in the amount of watercolor? The visual element/language gratitude is different for everyone. I think of just a few foil lines radiating from the word (still keeping the dark watercolor).

I love the outer worldy feeling. I too want something (although subtle) in the space above 'Gratitude' in top left quarter. The business name placement and size is perfect. Darkness for me is just right.

Hi Debb, I like the concept but agree that the focus "gratitude" gets lost in the background. Perhaps darkening the background up would help, or making this a horizontal design and enlarging the type?

This background is awesome! I think both your "Gratitude" and the company name could be moved up just a bit (the gratitude doesn't feel quite centered?) You could try thickening the gratitude just the slightest bit – it's not that there's any trouble reading it, just that your background is equally eye-catching and if you thickened up the gratitude a bit it might stand out just that tiny bit more to steel the show :)

I really like this! What if you added in some "streaks" of short lines like the splatter dot look that is so in right now, but with lines? Hopefully that made sense :-/

Beautiful watercolor, Debb! I would say to move up both the "gratitude" and the name just a bit. I LOVE the simplicity of it, however I may just a bit more "stylization" to either group of text. Either some kind of bracket around the name or a swoosh or two on gratitude. Best of luck!!

Love the color and texture! Have you tried this in a horizontal format? The word Gratitude may look even more nice running horizontally on a horizontal landscape... Not sure if i conveyed my thoughts very well... but hope this helps!!

HI Debb, maybe a bit of the speckles in the background texture could be brought to the foreground around Gratitude for depth & visual interest?

Love the look of this! Maybe setting the header along a very subtle arced path would add a bit more drama. I'd also bump the company name up a few taps from the bottom edge. It would give it more presence.

I would really like to see this in landscape format. You could then increase both pieces of text which would give it greater impact (although I would not increase the name details too much).

I don't think it's too dark. This is my husband's work "color" so they would be all over this! I think I would like to see the name moved up just a tad. It seems really close to the bottom right now.

Beautiful! Yes, I agree with a lot of the comments. It'd be helpful to make "gratitude" stand out more. If you could make the background a bit lighter or the text a bit bolder.
