Hi Annie, The design is not too busy, the photo has a lot going on. It's a cute family photo but the family name/year are almost hidden.

HI Annie! I don't think the design is busy at all. I like how it's simple, fun and most especially leaves a majority of the space for the photo. Awesome!

No, not too busy, but it feels somewhat photo-specific, maybe because of the way it curves around the man on the right just so. Have you tried it with other photos to make sure the layout still works for you? Also, I would add a stroke to the family name to darken it up a bit.
