i've moved the date to the bottom just to give it a try for now, but i feel like that orientation makes the design (background ignored) feel a little short/fat, and having it at the top where i originally had it helps to keep the design visually more centered/balanced & interesting...having trouble with it

i prefer the date at the bottom, it gives more attention to the design. maybe just nudge over the bird a tiny bit to the right closer to the "Y" to center align the design. looks great :)

Lauren, I do like the textured background because I think it adds depth. I think you were right, though, your original typeface looks better than the sans. That feels really tight. I don't think the placement of 2012 works on the illustration. Maybe you could include with the company name or skip it? Thanks for trying my suggestions.

Ok, so I changed the placement of the date and also changed the type face for the supporting text to something more simple, and I also added texture to the background. Below is also another alternate color way. I'm torn between the sans serif or serif font for the supporting text..I'm kind of leaning towards the font I originally had though

Love the green Lauren! I think adding texture would distract everything from your gorgeous little bird!

I like the addition of the green! And I like your change to a dotted line. Have you tried a deeper blue for the artwork and a pale blue for the background? Just another color combo to try...

like the textured version, adds some depth in contrast to the flat illustration. Love your color choices, too. Not 100% sold on the type choices for the supporting copy, especially the 2012. I think a sans might work better. Very pretty!

gorgeous illustration - love how you used a popular sentiment in such a unique way! I'm curious to see how the year might look elsewhere? It feels a little awkward where it is. Also agree with Kim - the supporting text might look even better in a sans font? Either way - in love with that bird!!

this is so elegant! loving the bird! I agree with the comments on about the copy type maybe being in a sans-serif typeface, something that would compliment the elegance of the bird... also, maybe try a subtle hint of colour on the copy type? might soften up the bold white, good luck!! <3

Love this! I prefer this background to the white. Maybe add a bright holiday green/or other color in the wings, not sure the purple is doing it justice. (just a thought)

gorgeous, Lauren! I may not be the best at color help - but I think this would look cool in white on a solid color background (you can use different opacities for the white to differentiate text or bird parts). Just a suggestion.
