About the Design

comments from Alyssa:

This is a design suited to anyone with an interest in computer programming. Usually the most simple program written is a "Hello World" program. This is what is shown here in this announcement of a new baby.

Looking for constructive feedback! This is the first challenge I've entered. I made some major changes to this one based on previous feedback! Let me know what you think :)

I didn't get the programming joke until I read the comment below (it was hard to read). I think some of the graphic elements (eg. the card shape) might be interfering with the message. I know there are other images in the photo folder that have a space beside the baby where all the type would be more legible. The courier type totally reads "programming language," and I like the idea so play it up!

I did get the programming concept right away. I might just suggest shrinking the size of the name as there are going to be some people with longer last and first names, etc, so keep that in mind when designing. I would also suggest making hello world smaller. I just seems a little overpowering next to baby ;) And I think the shape works, as I guess you are playing up the programming bracket concept ;) Awesome concept - and DIFFERENT!

Very original. I don't get the joke, as I'm not a programmer. But I would suggest just a rectangular card shape. I think the die cut is distracting for this layout. Good work.

The blue text is hard to read. Maybe just use a darker blue. Great work!

As a programmer as well as a designer this is a really cute idea! I do agree though that the blue might should be a little darker to make it easier to read.
