I think you have to respect the instructions and stay within the margins of the design. This is a safety measure to ensure no type gets cut off in production. I don't think you should add a upc code. It is usually in the back and not in the front of the magazine. Hope this helps!

If other designs have edge to edge design, it's probably just the photo and part of it may get cut off, but it's usually just pieces that will be okay if they're gone. Make sure not to let any text go outside the margins unless you don't mind losing it. You can take the photo edge to edge if you want, but make sure the text stays inside. I wouldn't worry about it on this one though -- I think it looks great as is.

@Miranda, I played around with extending the image past the 2.5 inch margins, but it lost it's "magazine" look, especially if I can not extend the text past that margin. @Mansi, I agree I'll leave the margins alone. It would be a nice print to have the white border around.

I like this! I automatically thought it looked like a magazine cover before I even read your description of the artwork. So I think you've succeeded on your goal!

I can totally see this being a magazine cover, what an interesting idea :)

I agree with Mansi ... follow the instructions. It already comes off looking like a magazine cover. Very good work ... clever idea!

I agree with Mansi on keeping your text within the restrictions. And this definitely looks like a magazine cover Salina . . . my only suggestion would be to make 'The Graduate Issue' a few points smaller than the magazine title 'Conquer'.

Love this! Just move Arlene Marie to the right centered above Hernandez and centered below YOU GO GIRL and cut and paste the exclamation mark over a smige more to right. Great idea!

Thank you, @Oma! "Conquer" is larger than "The Graduate Issue" by 122pts :( However, I do acknowledge that they still appear to look similar in size. I am searching a different font for for the cover title that is both neoclassical and condensed, so it can become larger and balance out the layout. If I can't find something, I like, I will definitely make "The Graduate Issue" smaller before the deadline.

Thank you, @Pamela! Though I was going the fashion editorial experimental type route, I am carefully considering your critique because having it all zig-zaggy may not be easy on the consumer having to customize it. I will play around with this more. Thank you.

Really fun idea! I think you could maybe get rid of the word "issue" at the bottom as just have it say "the graduate" because I think the magazine idea comes through strong enough as is and the text might sit better at the bottom without that. Great work!
