I prefer the square. It's a nice, simplistic design that way. :)

I picked B - the diamond shape feels more interesting and dynamic to me.

I feel like the orientation of A fills your space better. Well done!

I definitely approve of the typeface -- the mix of uppercase and lowercase letters goes well with the theme, being for a graduation card for a young person. Option B would be my choice since the clash of the diamond against the square gives more personality to the design, something I see someone his age would go for if he were to pick out of the two.

Cute! I like A. Think the typeface is great for the name to make is stand out. Then use a simpler font for the details.

i chose B..i think the angle makes it stand out more and gives it a little nod to a graduation cap!

I think I like B better, but it was a tough choice :) Did you try gold foil at all? Might break up the same-ness of the colors!
