I think B is perfect. The gray balance of the photo works well against the black background. Beautiful!

I picked A - love the photo in B but I think the photo in A better reflects the more formal feeling of this design.

Great layout! Have you considered nudging the person's name down slightly? I think the organization will look very nice if the two lines of text are closer together, and it will give the name a little more room.
