I think adding color would be a nice option. But it works without it as well.

Color may make it pop a bit more, Maybe sample that yellow from the little girls scarf, could be a nice color option. I'd just make the title a color and leave the name/date black.

I like the simplicity of white, but color is always an option. You could make a series and have both.

I think the B&W helps make this work with a wider variety of photos.

I like it without color! I think it allows the photo to be the central focus, while still featuring a really nice design element.

I like the simple black and white actually for the text. Maybe try moving "my sweet girl" up a bit to be centered in the semi-transparent band? Good luck!
