sorry tangerine lovers - i decided to go with my gut and scale back. I can always use them in another piece. Thanks so much for all your feedback!

You have my vote on this one. I like the the colors too.

Cecelia on Nov 4, 2011 at 7:46pm

I love this one. The color is fine. I would like to see a darker text. At my age it is a little grey.

seemed the type was getting lost in the last version... bumped up color and added back in tangerines since the type is now laid out vertically. Aaaggghh I can't decide!

Wow, I was just looking at the first version you submitted and it's amazing how much you improved this design. I love the colors and everything about it. The only thing I see is that the yellow leaves on the bottom left are getting lost in the darker gradient shade. Maybe you could play with the color a little and make them orange? I don't think that's a big deal though, it's really stunning the way it is, I'm sure you will do well :-)

I really love this as well as all it's lucky elements! It also makes me totally ready for chinese new year ;) I wouldn't change the border as it feels very traditional and just the right size. A couple nit-picky things (which are mostly personal preference so feel free to ignore) I would uncapitalize the bride and groom's names and make them all the same size and weight. I would also drop the "invite you to..." line down a little, and the copy below it up to make the leading all even and give just a little more whitespace between the copy and the carnation. (hope that makes sense, i'm not usually a morning person lol) I would also delete the one tangerine that is so close to the double happiness symbol so the symbol can stand out a bit more. Hope that helps!

White the tangerines are adorable, I personally really liked version 2...mainly because the flower is getting a little bit overpowered. I really like the way that the leaves in version 2 are monochramatic and the flower stands alone with a big splash of color. Also, the type no feels a bit crowded with the tangerines, whereas before it didn't matter as much because the leaves seemed to be receding into the background. I agree with Dawn that I'd like to see the bottom copy with even leading between all the lines. Others might have different feedback, but overall I think it's very stunning!

Wonderful elements. The border looks a little too bold next to the detailed, delicate florals. I would make the border smaller or perhaps outline the geometric pieces to give them less weight? Just a thought, welcome to Minted!

I like this a lot, but I think the bold red border detracts from the design. What if it was thinner or paler?
