Does my pattern need to be more random? Should I lose the birds?

Hi Ashlee, your pattern is fine. Love the birds . . . but you may want to scale down the pattern a bit.

Instead of birds I would add another hot air balloon. One that is even smaller. I think it will create even greater dimension that you're going for.

I love the hot air balloon theme! I would create more variance in sizes of the balloons...maybe change up colors with the different sizes (while staying with the same color scheme)? Keep the birds for sure :) Very cute!

Hi Ashlee! I love the colors of your work - clean and pastel. It is perfect for children textile. I would like to recommend you to use more variety of your elements - now design looks a little bit static. For example, birds could be drawn in differnet positions - some of them could lift their wings higher, others - lower. The same about balloons. Maybe it needs more contrast in size and color.

Ashlee, you are very talented and have an eye for color. I think the birds look great, and I like the effect of having some balloons towards the front, and the others further back. It makes it look like a sky full of fun! My personal recommendation is that you make the balloon part on the hot air balloon, more united. What I mean by that is, instead of it looking like there are 8 different balloons tied together, it might be fun to make it look like one balloon with different striped colors. Does that make sense? Doing that may add more dimension to the shape. Otherwise, I like the birds!
