I have been working very hard to make a simple but beautiful design with my favorite font this year. I love the idea of using jewel tones, but as I browse the two Minted catalogs I see mostly red. Is choosing a non-traditional color a kiss of death? What other colors would you like to see? White won't show, by the way.

This is really nice! I especially like the name treatment! Don't look at the catalogs. One of the special prizes is for non-traditional colors, so do what you like!

I love jewel tones too, but they don't play nice with photos and text. Minted loves nontraditional colors. The trick is to use them right. To make white text work with this photo you need a soft gradient set to multiply on top of the photo to darken the area you want to place your design on. Hope that helps.

I love the rich color! Have you tried perhaps giving it a slight ombre or gradient to add some depth? Just thinking out loud! :)

Very cute! It might be a kiss of death?! It might look really cool in a gold or silver foil!

I think this color is great. Seems like bright reds always do best but a lot of other colors do great too.

I really like the color. I know minted looks for non-traditional colors so I would go with what you like.
