I like the treatment of this photo. Although I think the warmer colors do take away some of the details of the flower (not sure if that was your intention). In the end, the color progression is very interesting, and it would be nice to see the rectangular version. Is it on the contest, too?

I Love this. Particularly, the arrangement of colors pulls the viewer in and I think it works quite well as a square print. I can see it in a minimalist frame with lots of white space matting around it. I think it's very good as is, but I understand the "unfinished" feeling too. Follow your instinct!

Kamala, I also love layering photos. I like your composition and colors, which are very soft.

I love the colors. It almost doesn't look like a flower. I think it would also be great on fabric. What a beautiful dress it would make!

I love the layering technique and how it gives the flower an "abstract" look.

I think this has a lovely feel of color and movement. You might also consider softening the focus a bit to help enhance the dreamy quality it creates.

Love this idea! So pretty. This is me being super picky and you can totally ignore, but I would stamp out or crop the tiny light blue area in the bottom left corner (and left the dark blue just bleed off).

Really like your creative technique. I had the same observation as Maria regarding the orange and pink area -- If you could selectively reduce the opacity of the sunset layer in that area to reveal a bit more of the detail in the flower petals, I think it would be perfect!

Thanks Jill, I'll take another look at it. I had a similar impression myself. Now that the kids are out of school and my volunteer work is subsiding, I should have a chance to take a better look at some of these.

Hi Kamala. I really love the colors and the way they graduate from warm tones to cool. It definitely gives me a beach vibe but like others have mentioned I would love to see more detail in the flower image. It seems washed out. I would love it to go one of two ways... either blurry and totally out of focus so that we are more drawn to the colors than the image or more finite and defined (the flower) so that our eye can focus on the flower. Right now my eye, is confused as to where it should go. I am still scoring high on this, because it did draw me in and make want to see it much closer, I think that is the point of art... to draw you in!
