About the Design

comments from Candice:

This design is inspired by the great silkscreen posters for music stars of the past (and present.) Perfect for a music lover or a music-themed party.

Another pink guitar! This one is very different from Mandy's and also so original! I love your colors and textures!

Thanks a lot Carrie! I wasn't actually going for pink though, it's more of a terra cotta red but it doesn't translate very well as a web color. I think I'll try to tweak that a little. Comments and suggestions are welcome :o)

I like your design and the type is great. It is reading pink to me too. Kind of has a late sixties folk music vibe . . . cool man ; )

Thanks for your comments again Kerry :o) I played with the colors so they look earthier (and less pink!)

Great design! I have to say I think it would be better suited for a teenager or an adult. But it's really cool, Very Folk!

I really like the layers in this design

This, to me, is Candice's most ambitious design. Between the guitar, the typography, and the Mondrian background, there's quite a bit going on in there that the designer has to deal with. I'm also impressed by how different this is from Candice's other designs. It feels too crowded, too visually busy to be a complete success, but I love the daring and willingness to try something new.

Thanks so much for your thoughtful response, Kyle. This is definitely the most experimental of my work for this round and I'm so pleased that you appreciate it for what it is (which is probably not pretty enough for this contest but a fun growth exercise nonetheless.)
