Just wanted to say that I think you came up with a great solution for this. The foil is very well placed now. Great problem solving! And I think the colouring works much better too.

I go with option a because the name stands out more. The other gets lost in your design.

Hi Damaris, This is a very nice composition. I'm just worried that the foil might not work in this case because of the amount of coverage and because you have the custom text information laying over top of it (which generally isn't possible). I'm pretty certain in terms of printing/production that this would not work. My suggestion is to instead have the background a different colour or all white, then make the ampersand the foil accent instead. Hope this is helpful!

Hi Sam, thank you so much I hadn't noticed that! Do you know if the ampersand would work in foil, since the customizable text would interfere with its shape?

Hmmm, I'm not positive about it. But I would avoid the custom elements mixing with foil elements wherever possible, because I think it is a production issue. The issue is, I think they stamp the foil after the flat printing is complete, so unless you want some of the custom elements to be covered (and hidden) by the foil, then yes... I would avoid it. You could always try making the names smaller to fit within that area inside the ampersand. Best of luck!
