About the Design

comments from Heidi:

Since Jeff is deployed, and Jessica's family lives in another country, I thought it would be appropriate to design a vintage French postcard Save The Date, to signify writing to loved ones. This design includes vintage French stamps, and can include a personalized note on the left hand side. Epargner la date s'il vous plaît in the bottom right hand corner says "Save the Date, please" in French.

Cute idea, but the French grammar is a bit off -- the infinitive verb "epargner" is more "to spare" than "to reserve." If I were writing that, I would probably use "réservez cette date, s'il vous plaît."

Like the postcard idea, but the phony-handwriting typeface doesn't work for me. Try actual handwriting? Copy seems a bit stiff?

You can't put hand writing in Illustrator and it would be too expensive to have a designer hand write 200 save the dates. Good idea though. Also could you clarify more on "Copy seems a bit stiff?" Overall this is a great design, especially how the designer made the post card look so realistic.
