This lamb looks angry...I would definitely rework illustrating the eyes to make it appear sweet.

Not so much angry, as EVIL! Overall, I think this design might be stronger without the lamb, and the other elements increased in size. It's a cute design, but the lamb, with its strong lines, is stylistically different than the elements with their double lines and angular corner elements, so you might be able to rework the lamb in a different, more modern card.

This is much better. One thing though - the band going across the photo might be a problem if say, someone wanted to use a head shot. I would suggest moving it behind the image, and maybe even make it like two three times a thick.
