About the Design

comments from Lara:

This unique figurative print of the Eiffel Tower has been designed using modern binary numeral language. To put it another way, the tower is made up of thousands of binary numbers. They translate into a passage from the public domain French novel Les Misérables. The passage is a scene of Jean Valjean dragging an injured Marius through the sewers of Paris. His struggle, veiled in this design beneath untranslated Eiffel-Tower-shaped binary, is akin to the darker side of Paris, veiled beneath romanticized ideations.
