Very cute illustration Rachel, if you think the scallops are too busy then maybe you should try using one of the die-cut templates instead to give it definition without actually adding too many elements. And don't forget to add a name to personalize it.

Keep the scalloped border, or not?

I think they are cute but probably a little too busy. You want the ice cream to stand out, a solid scallop would probably look better and the shape would compliment the shape of the scoops too. I think the font color should be different. Maybe the middle color of the ice cream? I think horizontal or vertical would work. With a stationary more for writing a lot of the "scoop" might be nicer usage wise for it to be vertical. I'd maybe try doing the ice cream in the bottom right and the text either to the left next to it or in the top left corner to balance it? Could be worth putting up other images for vote on the site. It's definitely a very fun stationery that I think people will be very drawn to!

The border makes it a little busy. I think the scallop would add a nice touch without taking anything away from the image. A horizontal format would really spotlight the image with it taking the length of the side.
