My daughter has been talking about doing a lemonade stand all summer—it’s pretty much the perfect activity for the kiddos on a hot summer day. Design to Dish: Garlic-Cheddar Biscuits

Written by Melissa of  Lulu the Baker

crab shrimp crawdad summer dinner lulu the baker

A few years ago, we threw a big birthday party for a friend on some property we own (which we’re finally building a house on—hooray!). She had always wanted a big dinner out in the middle of an open field, so we set up long tables and strung globe lights across our empty acreage. We had a traditional East Coast-style seafood boil, and they’ve become something of a family tradition ever since. Whether you go high end with lobster and king crab legs, or down-home with crawdads and shrimp, the beautiful nautical-inspired details below will make for a whale of a dinner party (terrible seafood pun intended)!

To go along with our seafood boil theme, I made some restaurant copycat Garlic-Cheddar Biscuits. They’re so flavorful and buttery, and are the perfect addition to this utensil-free feast. Keep reading for the recipe!

Rebecca Minkoff’s Baby Shower

We were honored to get to style and decorate designer Rebecca Minkoff’s baby shower for her second little one on the way. Any great event starts with a great venue. And even though it’s a bit off the beaten track, Fitzarraldo in Brooklyn was rustic, chic perfection. After you’ve secured a date and venue, what’s next? Why, the invitations, of course! The great thing about planning an event for a designer is I could simply pull up her site and ended up finding inspiration in the ‘tortora’ color of this bag
