Soft shades of ivory, lavender (radiant orchid’s subtle sister) and sweet, sweet mint green are capturing everyone’s heart this season. Creamy ivory is a welcome alternative to stark white and it pairs perfectly with the pastel shades that we have seen in runway, street fashion, interior design and fun spring themed DIY projects for the family.
While a true destination wedding might not necessarily be what you have planned, consider a stay near home destination themed wedding and pull inspiration in color from the streets of Italy, Morocco, Brazil or Mexico. To ensure that the color isn’t overbearing, stick to a classically modern white or ivory for almost everything and simply accent with color.
Take the classic party streamers and class them up times 10 and you have these nearly translucent, pastel frayed tassels that can delicately drape from outdoor tree branches to add an additional bit of chic whimsy to any event, but especially your wedding reception or welcome table. Off set bows in pale pastels tied to guest chairs add a nice and new surprise.
Radiant Orchid will forever be Pantone’s Color of 2014, but for wedding we really love toning it down to a softer shade, lavender. Consider a wedding palliate with a strong base of ivory or cream, pairing lavender also with light shades of blue and green.
