First Impressions Business Card Challenge Special Prize Winners

Our customers want to make a lasting first impression, so we asked the Minted Community to create the freshest, most beautiful business cards in the world. Minted designers delivered, creating a diverse and chic collection of all types of business cards, from mommy calling cards to charming feminine designs to sleek and serious cards. The winning designs below each stood out in one of our special prize categories. Congratulations, winners!

For Him Award for the card design that will most appeal to our male customers

Clean & Dapper” by Morgan Ramberg

Morgan strikes the perfect balance between whimsical and to-the-point with “Clean & Dapper.” The icons and pops of yellow lend a little fun to this card that we’re sure men will love handing out (and it’s even gotten a stamp of approval from the men in the Minted office).

Runners Up: “Totes Photes” by Misa | “Makermen” by Peahen Press | “Clean & Simple” by peony papeterie | “Skinny Type” by Hooray Creative

Out of the Box Award for a business card that you wouldn’t see on other online sites.

Vital Stats” by Stacey Hill

Who says bar graphs can’t be fun? Stacey’s use of a chart to display contact and business information is so clever, and we love the sophisticated color palette.

Runners Up: “The Artist” by M. Lee | “Dude, here’s my card.” by Shannon Patterson Design | “Golden Writer” by A Little Big Picture | “Headliner” by Peahen Press

Foil-Pressed Award for the business card design with elements that truly shine in foil-pressed metallics.

Have a Heart” by Sarah Wrede

Foil will really show off Sarah’s sweet, handdrawn heart! The white space in “Have a Heart” makes the design feel so airy, and the soft pink backer coordinates perfectly without being “matchy-matchy.”

Runners Up: “Peachy polkadot” by Hanke Arkenbout | “galette” by chocomocacino | “Golden Twig” by Erin Wallace

Curvilinear Award for the best design that puts the name or customizable text on a curvilinear path

With the ribbon” by Jazmin Barrientos Marquez

We love the movement in Jazmin’s calling card, from the twisting ribbon and perfectly fitted text to the dotted line swirling in heart shapes in the background. The unusual color palette of aqua, orange, and red makes the design even more dynamic.

Runner  Up: “Very Krafty” by Sarah Wrede

Great Shape Award for the best card design using one of Minted’s unique new die-cut shapes

Paper” by Susan Brown

Susan elevates the kraft paper tag with this design. The playful type and simple black, gold, and kraft color combination makes “Paper” really pop (not to mention the adorable gold hole reinforcer!).

Runners Up: “Playful Grid” by Wondercloud Design | “Pretty Ink Wreath” by Jess Jensen

Clean and Simple Award for the best uncluttered and modern design

agnolotti” by chocomocacino

Gerrie shows off her knack for clean design in “agnolotti.” The subtle chalkboard background and pop of pink beautifully soften the design without detracting from its modern style

Runners Up: “Half” by Susan | “Minimalist Chic” by guess what? | “Modern Highlight” by Chryssi Tsoupanarias

Best Mommy (or Daddy) Calling Card Award  for the best design that helps Minted customers set playdates for their children in style

Mom Calling Card” by Christina Novak

Mom takes center stage in Christina’s mommy calling card. We love how the banner weaves so effortlessly through the letterforms and that the inline typeface gives us a little peek of the banner behind the letters.

Runners Up: “Casablanca” by Maison Yellow | “Playful Frame” by Iwona K
