coconut nest easter cake

By Melanie of You Are My Fave

Don’t you hate when a dessert is pretty but only tastes mediocre at best? Nobody has time for that. I guarantee this is not one of those cakes. It looks good, tastes good, and is Easter dinner worthy good.

What you’ll need:
- a frosted cake (I love Ina Garten’s coconut cupcake recipe)
- coconut
- chocolate eggs

Step one: Scoop out a bowl on the top of the cake, deep enough for the eggs to fit nicely into.

Step two: Toast your coconut on the broiler setting in the oven. Watch closely, it can burn quickly.

Step three: Cover the outside of your cake with toasted coconut. No need to be too careful, cover that bad frosting job.

Step four: Nestle the chocolate eggs into the nest. Display and enjoy.

I love this! especially that you started with an already baked cake–clever
