You really can’t get away without a DIY element or two sneaking their way into a wedding these days. It’s the best way for brides and grooms to personalize their big day. However, not all of us are like Martha Stewart, so what is an easy way to infuse that personal charm? Chalkboards! Anything from chalkboard paint to a printable will do the trick. The best part is that you can apply this idea to pretty much any detail at your wedding, you can erase and start over, and most of these things can be re-purposed. Read on to see all of the possibilities of chalkboard paint and chalkboard inspired items!

Guests love to support the happy couple and take home a few extra favors to remember how much fun they had. Image via A Flair For Buttons // 8. Not going with a traditional program? 1. Escort cards in frames are working double duty. Attach a tag and tell guests to take them home as their favor! Go one step further and give them frames that fit one of the printed photos from your photo booth. Each guest will go home with their very own memory in a frame. Write a meaningful phrase on your big day, then take home to use on birthdays or other big celebrations. Image via Zulily // 3. Stain or paint the edge of a ready made chalkboard and sketch your menu out for guests to read as they come in to sit down for dinner. Image by Robin O’Neill Photography via Style Me Pretty // 4. Chalkboard inspired invitations are perfectly simple and are a great jumping off point to take design elements from for other signage in your wedding venue. Image via Nostalgic Imprints // 5.
