Sometimes those party staples just won’t cut it. I love classic party decorations, but I usually like to make them a smidge more modern and fun. These geometric streamers are bigger, better and have diamonds cut out of them, instantly updating those old standbys, the crepe paper streamers. Crepe paper folds are available in a variety of colors and you can find them online or at your favorite party store. Making your own streamers takes only minutes, I made all of these in less than 5 minutes, and the result is simple yet extra special, perfect for your next party.
Supplies: folds of crepe paper and scissors.
Step 1: Cut a four to five inch square out of the folded crepe paper.
Step 2: Starting on the folded edge, cut a triangle or half a diamond, as shown. Be sure to move about 1/2 an inch in from the corners, if you cut the corners it will not stay together.
Step 3: Repeat on the opposite folded edge.
Step 4: Repeat with all the remaining squares.
Step 5: Unfold your giant streamer and hang.
A quick and easy backdrop idea for a photobooth or just a drape behind the dessert buffet, use these in your next wedding or event. They would also look fabulous in the traditional use of streamers, strung across the ceiling. With streamers like these, you don’t need much else to decorate your next party.
