Up until recently, braids have been considered a casual way to tie back your hair. Now though, brides have been taken it to an entirely new level. By adding multiple braids, curls and little details like flowers, they are now a great idea to consider for your wedding day hair. I think they look best with summer wedding dresses and details, but they can certainly be altered to compliment a wedding in any season.3 COMMENTS
Whether it’s a cup of tea for Mother’s Day or for a bridal shower, the plain tags at the end of a tea bag could use a little fun. There’s no reason your can’t fix them up with a teeny tiny tissue pom. Choose her favorite flavor of tea (or yours) and dress up a simple breakfast or brunch with a pop of color.
Gather just a few items that you probably already have in your gift wrap supplies and whip one of these mini poms up in a flash.3 COMMENTS
We are having an unusual heat wave here in San Francisco this week – since we don’t have a warm summer, the beach/lemonade/sunbathing/evening ice cream cones are what’s on my mind right now for our small taste of summer this week. Here are some favorite refreshing ideas to keep you cool for summer, or a heat wave!
A homemade lemonade stand (image above)
Make your own watermelon slush
Fun car wash activity for the kids to go through in their bikes
Make a snow cone party banner
A cool summer hat
Have a wonderful weekend!

In a very exciting new partnership, unlike any we’ve done before, Minted has partnered with West Elm! We received 1,438 entries to our Minted + West Elm Art Challenge. The winning pieces of art will be featured and sold in West Elm stores around the country, starting later this year.
We couldn’t be more thrilled about this collaboration. Whenever we come across an empty nook or cranny in our homes, West Elm is our go-to stop for something both chic and useful. Also, we love that West Elm shares Minted’s commitment to supporting and promoting individual artists and artisans.1 COMMENT
If there’s ever a holiday to gift something handmade, it’s definitely Mother’s Day. Moms have the power to look past the imperfections and love something just because of the thought that went into it. They tend to like things even more if the face of their sweet kid is involved too. So I made this photo strip card as something to accompany that breakfast in bed already in the works.4 COMMENTS
