Making the centerpieces for your reception tables is much easier than you would imagine with the help of some simple florist tricks.
With just some basic florist’s tools like foam and secateurs, you can make beautiful arrangements to suit your wedding theme and the bonus is you don’t have to be rushing the day before to get everything into place.1 COMMENT
I love anything geometric and when I found these great hexagon wood shapes, I pounced. Remember to keep your eyes open when you stop by the craft shop, because these lovelies were nestled in the paper aisle. Wood is so nice and pretty to work with for cake toppers. I love these au natural (they have a great darkened edge) for a modern bohemian vibe or paint them vibrant hues for fun hipster cake toppers. If you are short on time or just have a favorite bakery, forget making the cake, just pop these modern cake toppers in and call it a party.
Happy Friday Julep readers! Besides planting and short sleeves, springtime always means a good thorough dose of cleaning, organization and reduce/reuse projects. It helps clear the dust both physically and mentally as we look forward to the lazy days of summer in a more organized and peaceful space. Here are a few fun organization projects seen around the web that we’d love to try sometime:
Beautiful storage unit made from thrifted file cabinets spray painted and topped with plywood (image above)
A great way to store and display your travel keepsakes from family trips
A cute idea for a book caddy using a skateboard
An old sweater shelf becomes a useful place to store important documents
Clever way to re-purpose an old ladder to become a bookshelf
This rotating goal list with sticky notes makes so much sense to keep organized each week
An brilliant organization ideas on your to-do list this spring?
Have a wonderful weekend!

Topping a wedding cake just got way more fun with these fringe heart cake toppers! They are whimsical, sweet and will be a great addition for special day. The toppers are made like pinatas, allowing you to stash away something special inside (perhaps your vows!). Save them to whack open when you eat the traditional top layer of cake together, or to open any day when you want to remember how special the wedding was.Comments Off
Exactly a year ago I was in the midst of post partum chaos and my friend delivered a few groceries to my doorstep including a carton of ice cream. My husband brought it up to the bed with a spoon and I remember saying out loud, “Ice cream has never tasted so good.” And I meant it. After that moment I vowed I would help every new mama I knew in some small way and so I created this snack box that is super easy to put together.8 COMMENTS
One of my favorite new tumblr’s to come around in awhile is This & That from the creative mind of Austin based photographer, Emily Blinco. I think the ampersand is one of the most beloved characters for most graphic designers and the way Emily recreates classic food combinations using it is so creative and fun. Check out all her creations on thisampersandthat.tumblr.com.
If you’re planning a spring or summer wedding these pretty, glittery bottles filled with a fresh flower and an attached escort card would be a lovely DIY detail.
Gold accents with pastel flowers are a great way to combine two of this season’s wedding trends and after your wedding you’ll have a beautiful collection of cute vases for your new home.
