Easy and Easier Cupcake Liner DIY

Have you ever wanted to spruce up those plain and boring cupcake liners? These days they come in a variety of colors and patterns, but what if you can’t find exactly what you need? It’s really easy to dress up your cupcakes and I’m going to show you two ways that will make your treats stand out from the rest, just in time for Easter and spring celebrations.

Here are two versions of cupcake wrappers that can be made in a flash, an accordion style and a classic cupcake wrapper…

Supplies: paper, scissors and double stick tape.

First, let’s make our easy accordion cupcake liner.

Step 1:  Cut strips of patterned paper or card stock into 1.25″ by 11″ strips.

Step 2:  Fold each strip accordion style.

Step 3:  Secure your ends together with double stick tape.

Step 4:  Pop a cupcake in your wrapper and this sweetie is ready for the dessert table!

How easy was that? The accordion style wrapper is different and sure to get your guests talking. Try it in a variety of patterns or try some metallic mirror board (card stock) for a shiny twist.

Short on time? Try making the even easier classic cupcake wrapper, no folding required.

Step 1:  Download and print our template for the cupcake liner. Cut out the template with scissors.

Step 2:  Trace the template on your patterned paper and cut out.

Step 3:  Wrap around the bottom of a cupcake and secure with tape.

In ten minutes or less you can customize your party treats to match any decor.  Don’t you love this patterned paper? I had a few sheets left over from when I made the paper fans from the Minted Weddings Press Brunch last week. Isn’t it gorgeous?
