We’re all still reeling from the Sending Good Cheer winners, but there are even more holiday winners to announce! In our Holiday Minibook and New Year’s Card Challenge, we asked our designers to create end of the year holiday designs for flat cards and for our signature Minibook format. These cards will be a wonderful way to spread the holiday love and to ring in the New Year with friends and family. Congratulations to our winners!
Customer Favorite Minibook
“Technicolor Snowflake” by nocciola design
We love the sweet simplicity of Jessica’s “Technicolor Snowflake” and apparently our customers do too. The modern, bright colorblocks perfectly complement the clean opaque dots that mark each page. Pair those details with the straight lines and simple shapes of the minimalist snowflake and you’ve got one very chic Minibook.
Customer Favorite New Year’s Card
“Big Date” by Carrie ONeal
Carrie’s “Big Date” is so unique and refreshing, just as it should be to mark the beginning of 2012. The bold numbers against the cut-out photograph contrast the soft colors of the confetti and text, almost shouting out the New Year. We love the cutaway that highlights the year, but also gives the photograph the attention and importance it deserves. It’s no wonder that our customers love this card.
Best Multi-Photo Design
“Joy Banner” by SimpleTe Design
Erin makes understated elegance look easy. The textured gold banner creates a strong line across the design, while staying subtle and light. Add a little Strangelove and a small script for the family name and “Joy Banner” seems a perfect example of clean and simple. The neutral colors and soft script are a beautiful contrast to the hard lines and colors of the customer’s photos, letting the photos stand out.
Runner Ups (clockwise from top left): “Frosted Windows” by Hello Hailey | “Bright Beginnings” by Call Me Lauren |“Welcome Twenty Twelve” by sweet street gals | “Welcome 2012” by Ana Sousa | “Mistletoe Wishes” by Studio Blixa 6
Best Full-Bleed Photo Design
“The Year” by Palm Papers
Who doesn’t love a great full bleed photo card? Lauren strikes that hard-to-achieve balance between letting the photo be the focus and including beautiful, modern design elements that you can’t help but notice. We love the untraditional transparent pink for the New Year and the organic white script overlay that pops against the heavy, bold numbers.
Best Bold Typography Design
“Everything is New Again” by GeekInk Design
What a wonderful idea: that everything is new again with the New Year. Eric makes retro modern and fun with this striking typography based design. We love the muted palette and the diagonal interplay between the stylized “2012” racing stripes and the customer photo. The distressed background and crisp Futura complement each other perfectly.
Congratulations to all!5 COMMENTS
