Never have we had so much fun looking through all the design submissions for The +3 Holiday Design Challenge. The Halloween cards sent chills down our spine. The Easter cards were simply “egg-cellent”! The Thanksgiving cards made us grateful for the amazing talent in Minted’s design community. Here are the Special Editor’s Picks and the Runners up in each design category – brought to you by Mariam (Minted’s Founder & CEO) and the Minted Design Staff.

Candytarian by Campbell and Co.  Minted customers all have a sweet tooth for this design! It just goes to show that Halloween can be sweet and doesn’t have to be all that scary.

Best Design by a Minted Newbie:

Witchy Poo Trick or Treat by LadyB. This strong debut from LadyB showcases nice texture on a fun collage of illustrations. A treat for our eyes to say the least!

Best Design that incorporates a photo:

Rustic Spledor by chica design. We love the layout and the simple, woodlike pattern of this design. This is a design for anyone who wants to give thanks in style.

Best Halloween Design:

Pretty Awful Halloween by Cecile Paper Lounge. Who could have imagined such a pretty Halloween Card – love the way the designer expertly paired together folksy florals and bats.

Best Thanksgiving Design:

Herringbone Thanksgiving by Ashley Foote. We love how this design eschewed the common Thanksgiving imagery, but the warm fall colors and bold message of gratitude capture the spirit of the holiday perfectly.

Best Easter Design:

Fresh Floral by Paper Dahlia. We love Kerry of Paper Dahlia’s retro inspired Easter design. The linen texture background give the design a warm feeling and adds lots of rustic charm, while the bold colors, floral illustrations, and patterned eggs  add a modern feel to the card.

Best Religious Design for an Easter Card:

Stained Glass by Kristen Smith. A beautiful design that uses a delightful color palette.  We absolutely love the gorgeous execution of the stained glass effect on the cross.
