I've fallen hard for designing cards after seeing a beautiful ad for Minted last year. I'm a proud Penn Stater and even prouder mom of three great kids. I run a small graphic design and illustration studio, but the highlight of my day is being part of the Minted community where I can use my illustration and hand-lettering skills for the next design challenge!

Hi Jennifer, I too didn't have time for this last challenge but at last I have found the time to thank you for your comment on my women's stationery "Floral Redux." I had entered it as a wedding bouquet originally and then thought about the sweet design you did w/flowers in a white vase and that inspired me put my florals in a vase. Thanks for always being so willing to share your techniques in the forum too. Sue

You're sweet, Jennifer! I just didn't want your beautiful design to be sale for years to come with that extra "t!" ;) The meet-up was fun - I wish you could have been there! Although a 7-hour drive is pretty long for a 2-hour event! I wish it had been even longer - I really enjoyed visiting with everyone!

Hi Jen! Oh my so sorry it took me so long to reply to your note - I just looked and you sent it Jan 4. Anyway, just wanted to say that I think you might be onto something doing V-day cards instead of Christmas - Nov/Dec are always sooo crazy busy and every year it's a stress to get cards out - maybe I'll do V-day cards next year too!!! I hope you're doing well - I've been kind of MIA lately (lots of other projects on the go), but will be back to participate in some challenges soon!

Jen, thank you so much for your sweet comment. :) It's a huge compliment coming from someone so established on Minted and so, so talented. I would totally watch a youtube tutorial on hand lettering. I've tried to find classes locally just for calligraphy, but they seem to be rare or just don't exist. My mom is a classic calligrapher, but she doesn't really practice anymore. :) So really, teach away! haha

I soo love all of your art. You are so talented. I struggle to find a single free minute in the day with an infant and toddler at home, how do you have time to do it with 3? You're amazing!

It really means a lot to me coming from such a talented mintie :) I used millers for the first time, and even though I sent the wrong files (lettering off centered and our photo is cut off more than I wanted, totally my fault) I was happy with the quality results. The day after I wasn't able to cancel my order because the cards were already printed. They're so fast! The stock I used is 100% recycled but they have cotton and bamboo which i think they really nice too. When you sing up they mail you a swatch with their paper Hope this helps and happy printing! :)
