About Jill Means

I have been a graphic designer for 15 years, but have a new obsession for designing personalized products, photo cards and design geared toward families. My husband, Scott and I have 5 children ages 6, 10, 11, 13, 15. They inspire my love for creating and celebrating family events and memories. I am so grateful that I have my own business and can work from home doing what I love surrounded by those I love! I graduated from Brigham Young University in Graphic Design.

Thanks Jill! I agree too on the printer thing. Those who want to print from home are crazy! I spent 7 hours on printing 350 wedding invites (via Etsy and printed at home to save a buck) and couldn't stand up straight for two days! Swore I'd never print from home again. I find if you have a good relationship with a printer, quality will be good so you can drop ship. If something goes wrong with order, the printer will usually redo at no cost (assuming it was their error). Thanks again and love your work!

Thanks Jill. All digital, using Photoshop paint brushes/watercolor. You are correct, simplicity's the key here at Minted... although I wasn't sure, so I took a chance in hopes someone like you would take notice. Thanks again.

I agree, I think we both had some good designs that could have held their own in the final cut...in fact there were really a large number of designs from a bunch of designers that I was sad to see didn't make it through the cut :( I'm honored to have my one though! Hi Jill - you were right about the lens flare - I decided to drop it afterall! It doesn't look as good when printed. Also, I enlarged the names. Thanks for your help!! Your entries for this challenge are great, as usual :)

re: Concert Flyer: Thank you for your help Jill! You are right about some of the subtleties of images being lost when going from web to print. I printed it out to see and it actually looks OK. I'm still debating whether or not to remove the lens flare - thanks again!!
