About Gakemi Art+Design

Gakemi Art+Design is a studio based in Toronto, Canada inspired by the lovely things that surrounds me especially my three kids. In the past, I worked in architectural design and currently I am enjoying my creative passion as an illustrator, designer and a stay-at-home mom. I am so grateful to be part of the Minted Community team. It gave me every aspect of inspiring and creating design on paper that is fresh modern+stylish and to suit all life's occasion. Hello, thank you so much for your comment. I made a small modification in the design ... I moved and reduced the elephant's trunk a little... I would be sad if I removed the elephant's trunk from the illustration completely.

Hey Nam! I'm horrible at explaining how I make textures, so here is the link that I found really helpful. He has a bunch of great tuts, and some free downloads too. For the canvas one (which is this link), when I was happy with it, I saved it as a bitmap tiff, then placed it in Illustrator, so I could make it any color I wanted. Hi! I would swear you had entered a birth announcement design that I commented on a few times - swag across the top, brown background and a few photos across the middle (originally titled "shooting star?")...it was one of my faves. What happened to it???

I'm a newbie and interested in designing cards. i've been rubber stamping and scrapbooking for years, and I think this looks like a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I am absolutely STUMPED about a few things. For one, what software is the best to use? Photoshop? Illustrator? iPhoto (ha ha ha)? And do you freehand your artwork (like city skylines, the nativity scene, etc) or is there a really cool clip art source for these types of things? Thanks for your time........

I sent a note asking why you have 0 score and am waiting for a response. If there is a problem hopefully it can be rectified because your designs are fantastic.
