and, if you do the speech bubble, you may want to extend the grey to the edges (take out the white border). If you don't like the bubble idea, I won't be offended - it's your design! Just making suggestions. :)

I like texture, too, but decided that a "flat" wreath was more in keeping with the modern feel of the design. I did make some changes, though, which, hopefully, make it more wreath-like. Chris, thank so much for the sweet note. You are such a wonderful illustrator, you will have wins in no time. It took me forever to get some -- I lost my first three challenges, then only won 1 design for months. I was going to give up, but I enjoyed the people here, and the fun designs, and kept trying. (You should look at my first submissions - they are awful! I was so clueless). But the feedback here is so great, and I have honestly say the past year and a half I have changed so much in my design b/c of it - and I am so much more engaged and excited about design than I ever was before finding Minted. Keep submitting your gorgeous work - you will get there. I'm seriously surprised you haven't won any yet, but I think your holiday cards are going to be a big hit. xo :)

Thanks for all the feedback, Chris - I really appreciate it! I've screened the stripes 50% and brightened the green. After submitting Version 1, I realized that it was inadvertently too similar (in my opinion) to a corporate design already for sale. I've been differentiating it from what already exists with each version. I hope I've succeeded in creating something fresh, in the end. Thanks and best of luck to you, too! :)

love what you just did. one more small tweak, maybe make the sweet pea type a slight bit smaller so it doesn't curve around as much. But again that is minor. I love it!

Love your Moonstruck minibook! that is my favorite of all you pieces so far in this challenge! Reminds me of the little prince. The typography on the first page is really great.

Chris, I think thats a good balance between what I suggested and what you did. I had mentioned having the florals cover the outer edge of the photo so they make up the border shape and then having the type go over the picture and the florals at the top. But what you have now looks nice. And I see you have some likes so I don't think you need to tweak it too much more. Maybe someone else will chime in but I think it is very nice!

Hi Chris! I'm sooooo sorry I didn't reply to your note on my profile page. I completely missed it! I really like the white on kraft version of Baby Train. I meant to suggest just the white outlines without the fill for the animals. Sorry this response is so late!! I'm glad you left your original version up, too, because I think it looks better than my suggestion! Well, hope you're having fun here at Minted!
