It all started years ago with crayons and colorforms... I am a graphic designer who draws inspiration from history, travel, and nature. I love designing pieces for important celebrations and 'just because' events and hope that the art of letter writing never dies. Creativity has many forms, and as a classically trained pastry chef I also love designing with chocolate.

Hi Ann, Thank you, I appreciate you getting back to me. Minted is like a blessing from out of the blue, an opportunity to be involved with the way of designing I am aspiring toward. The first 3 challenges I was way off, but I had fun. For the "Out of the box holiday gift tag challenge" I was way out of the box in a couple of instances, not sure about the others. I feel the concept is just out of reach. Seems I would know this but sometimes things take a little while until I "get it". I'm realizing that the limits and standards of the advertising world I was locked into are still with me; I have design habits. Is there a 12-step group for that? "Hi, I'm Debb W. and I am a bold-advertising design-aholic?" I need a fresh approach and any advice you can give on how to get there is a start. hi ann, thank you for commenting about the color of my red notecard - i actually used the red color in the submission kit, but when i hit "save for web", the color was completely off, so i tried to manually adjust the color for presentation purposes, but after saving it, the red is still off! do you have any ideas as to how to make the color appear more accurate after i save it?

ps: just to clarify - i meant the lens flare I added might be bit much - not the stripes you suggested, I think those look nice :)!

Thanks for your input - I tried out the striped background and I played with the copy, but wasn't crazy about adding the word "and." I put a lens flare in the corner, sort of like a spotlight to balance out the text. It might be a bit much, but it has an interesting effect!
