adorable illustration! i'm thinking the photo may work better in black & white or a sepia tone since the colors in the illustration are so muted. if you take out the pale color in the snow it would give you a bit more space to work with the family name & date (the white space would be nice) :)

such a cute illo. I agree with family name comments and I'm having a little trouble reading the small script in the tree, maybe add a stroke .1 its?? Not sure how to solve it best.

So cute! I think it might help to have the family name in the same sans as the date. It just feels like there is a lot of Black Jack right now.
