Awesome, it's working. I think I'd lose the formal and just say reception to follow and maybe try the script font and a bit larger, add a slight stroke if you need to make it pop.

I think it's much better at the top now. I do kind of miss that banner. I love that color and it really popped. Did you try it at the bottom at all??

Love the backers and alternate color ways. If this were my design I think I'd experiment with bring the banner down to the bottom and putting the "formal reception" text in it to ground the piece. Then I'd us the R star J and the header/monogram at top and just bring the "You are cordially invited" line above "to the wedding" with the same leading and color as the date and time. Just ideas.

Love the color combo! I agree with Stacey in that bringing the initials together at the top and letting them be the focal point up there would be nice. If you keep the banner (either at the top or bottom) then I'm not sure you need the ornament between the names and the date/place information. Or maybe you could use something smaller or more delicate?
