this is really beautiful emily! your type and illustration are flawless, my only concern is that it feels a bit to somber for a wedding.

thanks annie! I can see how it may feel a bit somber! do you think if I add more leaves to the top, and remove the ones that are falling it may be better?

add some initials in the heart of the tree and adding more leaves will work. Also, i think the roots give it a somber feeling. reminds me of the show six feet under. but i can also see it as establishing your roots as a new family to come. maybe do a closer crop of the trunk and falling leaves?

I LOOOVE this but see what the others are saying. Could you incorporate a few other fall colors - auburn brown, burnt orange, etc. in a muted palette??? I really like the simplicity of the palette but wonder if a couple other colors would add some cheer. Tough one! Great job btw.

hi everyone! thanks so much for the helpful comments! I've added a lot more leaves, some subtle color, and the initials in the tree. I think overall it's much cheerier!!

love the revisions, not at all somber :) only think to nitpick at this lovely design is the initials in the tree - they look hand drawn which could be a problem if minted customers want to customize it.

yay! glad it's improved! the letters in the tree are actually garamond small caps, so they are totally customizable!

Your designs almost never need improving but this is much better. It's now a happy tree! :)
