Oh one thing since there is no more head you could have the arrows to the bubbles pointing in different directions to mix it up ;)

Heather - thanks so much for the suggestion! I have not had time to come back to this (and won't before the deadline today)...but I was thinking the bubbles should all aim toward where "ME" is aimed, since that's where the kid would be who is speaking all these names...

Thanks, Olivia! I've increased the outline on all the text. I've also enlarged the size of some of the talk bubbles, in case they need to fit names like "grandfather."

This is really going somewhere, Kim! The colors and shapes are really fun and modern. I think if you increased the font size (esp for the larger names in white) that would help. Or maybe just adding a .1 or .2 rule around the type would help it pop.

Kim, I really like this!! It is much stronger now and more fun and light-hearted : ) I'm having the same feelings on one of my designs, so I feel your pain ; ) Definitely keep this one. It's great!

I gave up on my aspirations from my last comment...is this worth entering? I've increased the size of the monikers. Each bubble has a full name and birthdate.

Okay - I am not finished. I took out the silhouette. Ultimately, the "me" will be at the bottom, and all the bubbles will be aimed that way (like the child is standing underneath the picture). I am in the process of redoing the talk bubbles, so the have rounded corners). I'm also not set on the colors...wishing I hadn't submitted this one, yet...

comments and critiques appreciated...I think this idea was cooler in my head (they usually are!). Should the talk bubbles vary in size/shape/opacity for interest, or is this way best for clarity?

Great design! I think the bubbles should vary in size and shape (might give it more of a creative edge). You shouldn't have to play around with the opacity, that seems perfect.

Interesting concept, Kim! I think the bubbles should be different too— I wish I could read the bubbles — do think for different people they should be different typefaces? I might extend his neck and shoulders to bleed off, so he's not floating.
