I like the color better on this version, but I think I liked the way the edges of the previous version were modeled better than the horizontal lines here and the way the chevron was showing through the heart. Maybe the heart can tuck under the STD letters or SD can touch each other to be a more unified element. I'd take that down and make the couple's names larger since they are lighter. I might use the same typeface for the date as well and maybe that goes behind the word 'date' - again just my two cents here.

I think you just need some color play here. Ann is right, It needs some brightness to make the date shine and the simple heart illustration stand out.

I love simple so your elements are great to me. Maybe use a somewhat brighter, happier color combination? And the date gets a bit lost with all the bold type around it. Maybe make that a darker color or bolder? Just my two cents!
