this was fun, but tough to lay out. any suggestions would, of course, be appreciated! i'm not totally loving the layout of the middle section and tried putting the second column of icons (tablespoon, cup, gallon) right justified but then it made the accompanying text impossible to get right. grr.

Great idea and wow lots of work. This would definitely come in handy in my expat kitchen! To me the gray feels a little on the cold side. As far as the layout of the center bit - what if you tried aligning the icons on their centers and had all the spoons and cups facing the same directions? That might help make them feel more connected.

I could totally use this! I agree with all of Amy's comments regarding alignment and colors. Trying to think of some color suggestions...have you been to kuler.adobe.com? It's great for color inspiration. I'm thinking something warmer like off-white and brown would feel more like a kitchen.

i guess none of you lives in my ideal modern home, eh? i'll play with colors. as for the center section, i'm not sure moving all of the icons to the center will work any better because it messes with the text alignment, which for communication purposes is pretty important. but i'll play. THANKS! (and yeah, i'm more in love with colourlovers.com than kuler.adobe.com, but i do love 'em all).
