I think this is totally awesome, but I would show more of the continents. I honestly can't make out the US or Europe or NY or Madrid in any way... I think this could be better in landscape with the 'map' on the bottom and the text on top

Thanks! The idea was to show some context of maps but not any specific region so that it would be easily customizable and the Minted people wouldn't go crazy! So, just a reference. But thanks for the recommendations, I love them.
