About the Design

comments from the designer:

this simple, classic holiday card is both sophisticated and playful in its depiction of this frosty holiday icon. complete with a vintage color scheme that pops. works well with one (shown), two and three photos.

thanks everyone for your comments! i knew there was a problem with the interpretation from the beginning... but i couldn't quite figure out what it was... but i realized quickly i was too close to the design, as i could see the snowman directly.

Hey Emily--the scarf is very fun, but I actually like the snowman better with the body implied. I could literally 'see' the circle for the body even though it wasn't there. That's what made it so charming for me.

Out of all your submissions, this is the hardest for me to grasp as 'snowman'. I first thought it was a pile of gifts. I think removing the buttons and adding a scarf would make it easier to see a snowman. I think the spatial relationship between the buttons and hat is what is throwing me off.
