Simple and sweet. This two-photo heartfelt holiday card is stitched on natural linen.

By popular demand...natural linen and red. You don't think this looks too much like a burlap sack?

By the way, thanks Sydney for the idea of stitches on either side of the family name. It pulls the whole thing together better.

love these colors, ann. have you ever seen a burlap bag? this is not burlap bag! the slight green hue to the natural color really sets off the red. one day when i can't type on minted anymore i am going to cross-stitch this design and hang it in my hallway :)

Thanks for your thoughts, ladies! Not sure how I feel about the colors. I'll let it sit with me for a while.

I tried lighter colors for the background but it ended up washing out the photos and I really wanted them to pop. How about a more traditional color?

I like this! It definitely is simple and sweet. I don't mind the background color. Makes it more festive.

I like this, too! I would suggest maybe connecting the two photos though, the green in the middle is a bit distracting to me.

Great design! While I applaud the bold use of color, I think this would be even better with more homey colors. Maybe a natural linen color background and deep red stitching? Just a thought...

I am loving the placement of everything in your design! LInen and deep red sound wonderful! Even if you did a tone on tone neutral for the background and used red as an accent for the other elements. I think three or so of your cross stitches on each side of the family's name instead of the horizontal lines would be a nice touch :)
