About the Design

comments from the designer:

This single photo card features clean lines and typography reminiscent of bauhaus design. I have always loved little vintage spice tins and toiletry bottles. I'd like to call this the family holiday card version of retro packaging!

Love it! It has that old time charm when people sent letters instead of emails. And it make me want a malt.

Thanks so much everyone. I certainly don't have one particular design style but I would consider this design to be pretty indicative of myself as far as the type of aesthetic that speaks to me. (if that makes any sense at all!)

I like this idea. Maybe moving the two angled stripes and type a little down so that it's more level but still angled would look good. I don't know if that makes sense... hah. Anyway love the design and color combo.

I tried that but then I'm left with too much space at the top and I can't seem to come up with anything to go there that doesn't make things too busy. I've had this idea in my head for a while but can't seem to do the idea justice through the actual design :) I've tried a full bleed photo and different card sizes . . . I'm still waiting for it to come together. Thanks for the input. That's what I am looking for!

lovin the retro feel of the card, something about the colors isn't working for me. maybe try rich classic reds?

Thanks for the feedback, Annie. I played around with the colors and came up with this revised edition. I couldn't get red on red to work but paired the warm red with a minty-aqua that I think keeps the retro feel without coming across as a highlighter like the previous lime color :)

Okay, just kidding. Looks like there might be some technical problems in mintie land . . . will revise later.
